Tata Nexon CAMO vs Regular Nexon: Which Offers Better Value?

The Tata Nexon CAMO Edition starts at ₹9.99 lakh, but the more useful number for a buyer is not its starting price.

On several comparable Creative variants, the CAMO costs only about ₹24,000 more than the regular Nexon Creative. In return, Tata adds a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, an integrated dashcam and CAMO-specific styling while leaving the engines and mechanical package unchanged.

That makes the real question simple: are those additions worth roughly ₹24,000?

For buyers who were already considering a Nexon Creative, the answer is more interesting than the CAMO badge suggests.

How Much More Does the Nexon CAMO Cost?

Tata offers the CAMO Edition from ₹9.99 lakh to ₹13.94 lakh, depending on variant, engine and transmission.

The clearest comparison comes from the Creative variants because equivalent regular Nexon versions are available with the same major powertrain choices.

These are listed ex-showroom prices and should not be treated as final dealer quotations.

The petrol-manual comparison is particularly notable because both versions currently sit at essentially the same ₹10 lakh price point.

For the other Creative powertrains, however, a clear pattern emerges: the CAMO upgrade costs roughly ₹24,000.

That is the number buyers should compare with the additional equipment.

What Does CAMO Add Over the Regular Nexon?

The CAMO is not a performance edition.

Its two most meaningful equipment additions are the 12.3-inch Harman touchscreen and integrated dashcam.

The equivalent regular Nexon variants use a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. The CAMO therefore increases the central display to 12.3 inches while retaining the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

The larger screen gives buyers more display area, but it does not by itself change how the Nexon drives.

The dashcam is arguably the more important upgrade.

Tata has integrated it with the Nexon’s 360-degree camera system rather than simply adding another cosmetic element to the special edition.

That gives the CAMO a practical feature that many owners otherwise consider installing separately after buying a car.

What Else Changes on the CAMO Edition?

Tata also gives the special edition two exclusive exterior colours: Munnar Mist and Coorg Cloud.

CAMO badging appears on the front fenders, while the front-seat headrests receive CAMO-themed perforation.

These changes make the vehicle visually distinct from a normal Nexon, but their value depends entirely on personal preference.

A buyer who does not care about the CAMO appearance should therefore judge the extra cost mainly on the touchscreen and dashcam.

Does the Nexon CAMO Get More Power?

No.

Tata retains the same existing Nexon engine choices.

The 1.2-litre turbo-petrol produces 120hp and 170Nm, while the 1.5-litre diesel produces 115hp and 260Nm. The CNG version produces 100hp and 170Nm in CNG mode.

Manual, AMT and dual-clutch automatic transmissions are available depending on the chosen engine and variant.

There is no CAMO-specific increase in power, revised suspension or other mechanical performance upgrade.

Someone choosing between equivalent regular and CAMO versions should therefore expect the decision to come down to features, styling and price, not performance.

Is Paying About ₹24,000 Extra for the Nexon CAMO Worth It?

For several Creative variants, ₹24,000 is not an unreasonable premium for buyers who genuinely want both the larger touchscreen and factory-integrated dashcam.

This is what separates the CAMO from a special edition that charges extra mainly for paint, badges and interior trim.

However, the calculation changes once dealer discounts enter the picture.

A regular Nexon that carries a stronger dealer discount could become significantly cheaper than its CAMO equivalent even though the published ex-showroom difference is only around ₹24,000.

Buyers should therefore ask for quotations for both versions on the same day and compare the actual on-road amount after available discounts, insurance and other charges.

For example, if the final difference remains close to ₹24,000, the larger display and integrated dashcam make the CAMO easier to justify.

If a dealer reduces the regular Nexon’s price enough to create a much larger effective gap, buyers who do not specifically want those two features may get better value from the standard model.

Who Should Choose the CAMO Edition?

The CAMO makes the most sense for a buyer already considering a Creative or higher Nexon who wants the integrated dashcam, prefers the larger touchscreen and likes one of the exclusive colours.

The regular Nexon makes more sense when the dealership offers a substantially better deal or when the buyer has little interest in the CAMO-specific equipment.

That is ultimately why the new edition is more interesting than its styling suggests.

For five Creative powertrain combinations, the decision is effectively whether roughly ₹24,000 for the extra equipment and CAMO treatment represents better value than whatever discount is available on the equivalent regular Nexon.

Check that number on the final dealer quotation, and the choice becomes much easier.
